Senior Manager, Creative Services
Recruited to lead rebranding efforts following Verisign’s sale of its authentication business to Symantec.
Direct all aspects of the Digital and Creative Services production function, including product and corporate collateral development, executive presentations, product demos and videos, creative support for events, and web production initiatives. Lead, train, and coach team that includes Senior Marketing Manager; report to the Director of Digital & Creative Services. Collaborate with cross-functional teams on materials that support company-wide programs.
- Built the Creative Services team from the ground up, from hiring staff to instituting all processes. Developed the team into a highly productive, highly valued in-house creative agency that resulted in a multimillion-dollar annual savings (cut ties with previous external agency).
- Developed process via JIRA to optimize management of creative requests company-wide, including prioritization, assignment to team members, and delivery of final products to requestors. Replaced prior inefficient email process, with ~3,500 creative requests completed to date since launch of JIRA process.
- Launched Marketing Digital Asset Library (DAL) that acts as a central repository for all Verisign employees globally to have access to all digital creative assets produced by the team. Additionally developed process to communicate additions and updates to the DAL on a weekly basis.
- Rolled out Verisign Brand Store, an e-commerce site that enables employees to purchase branded merchandise and apparel. Transformed employees into brand ambassadors as a result.
TELE ATLAS – Boston, MA – 2005-2010(Industry-leading provider of digital mapping data and location-based services)
Director, New Product Introductions / Director, Segment Marketing
Initially hired to establish retail channel with major U.S.-based electronics retailers and build relationships with portable navigation partners to gain distribution for their products in the U.S. market.
As Director of New Product Introductions, led the commercial launch of new and existing products, including development of sales tools, product collateral, and sales team training materials. Collaborated with Product Manager on product positioning, oversaw graphic design process, and led product training sessions.
As Director of Segment Marketing, created and executed new revenue-generating opportunities. Worked with Sales, Research, Business Planning, and Product Marketing to discuss market trends and deliver solutions that met customer needs. Created strategies for new relationships and products leveraging Tele Atlas’ core capabilities.
- Established profitable, sustainable relationships with industry-leading retailers that included Best Buy, Circuit City, Target, and Walmart on behalf of portable navigation partners. Worked with key hardware partners to create channel development plans, gaining them distribution with leading retailers.
- Launched and grew the New Product Introductions team into a high-functioning, valuable resource for the company. Established and refined all NPI policies/procedures.
- Conducted monthly product training sessions for over 100 team members across Sales, Marketing, and Customer Support across 4 continents.
- Built the map update program for BMW North America. Created a customer acquisition and retention program in the form of an e-commerce platform for BMW owners to order map update DVDs.
- Expanded Tele Atlas’ B2C European web site Navshop.com to the N.A. market; designed to act as a customer retention tool by allowing end users of navigation systems to update their maps.
AMERICA ONLINE – Dulles, VA – 1999-2005(#1 online service provider at the time)
Account Management Director / Senior Account Manager / Account Manager
Built consistent record of achievement and promotions through increasingly responsible positions.
Managed multiple large retail accounts and played a key role in negotiations with strategic retail partnerships, serving as the chief advocate and point-of-contact for these partners on a daily basis. Designed and deployed co-marketing plans with partners to capture and retain profitable AOL subscribers via distribution of AOL software in retail locations nationwide. Supervised, trained and evaluated direct reports; reported to the Executive Director.
- Captured over 500,000 new AOL subscribers through marketing programs with partners that included Microsoft, Target, USPS, Burger King, The Home Depot, MCI, Blockbuster, and 7-Eleven. Introduced new partnerships with AARP as well as 7-Eleven and The Home Depot.
- Drove AOL’s presence in 20,000 retail locations nationwide, generating over 217,000 new subscribers in 2004 alone. Captured 50,000 new members in 12 months following launch of Blockbuster Loyalty Program.
- Served on the task force that created and launched the AOL Prepaid Card. Additionally served on the Executive Feedback task force that provided valuable input to the senior management team.
- Built store audit database and trained AOL retail team on data entry/reporting.
